Holy cow! This one is gonna be a test for me. 

Dear Ex,

I spent way too long kissing your butt and begging for your attention.  I raised your children, while you ran off to party.  Need I remind you of the night you never came home. Your son flipped and you had pictures of your face shoved in between a woman's legs. 

Since we have split, I find myself asking: why in the hell did I stay so long?  What made me want to deal with your manipulation and demeaning ways?  I still don't know. 

I do want to thank you though.  Because, you showed me what a man isn't supposed to be. You showed me that I am strong enough on my own.  You showed me that I deserve a man that will marry me. A man that will shower me with affection and make me feel special, not make me feel fat and stupid and worthless. 

You took me places that I've never been and for that I am thankful. You showed me that I can love a child that's not mine. You also showed me that puttin someone on a pedestal and trusting someone completely will get me no where. 

All in all, I learned a LOT from our relationship. I stayed because I thought deep down you really had a heart. You were right, you don't.  You used me for sex and a babysitter. Some of my best days were when it was just me and your boy in Idaho. 

Lesson learned,

Never again dependent on a man
